Gentlemen, the envelope please.... And the winners are.....drumroll please!...... Best Performance by a Tom Hanks in a Comedic Role - Bachelor Party! - This raunchy farce is hilarious in a very sick and depraved way - and I love it. Even though there are many, many funny Hanks movies (The ’Burbs, Splash, Dragnet, The Money Pit, etc.), this is the one where Hanks’s comedic genius was out of control and on the loose.

S zaniness really hit the homerun for this movie. He was so over the top, it makes me giggle just thinking about it. That poor donkey.... Best Performance by a Tom Hanks in a Dramatic Role - Forrest Gump!

- Another tough call by the Academy! Cast Away was a close second, but who can ignore the understated brilliance of Hanks’s dimwitted portrayal of Gump? I honestly became so immersed in his performance I forgot that I was watching Hanks - the same man who put male genitals in a hot dog bun precious years prior in his career!

S performance was touching and breathtaking. The first movie I ever saw twice in theatres. Best Performance by a Tom Hanks in a Romantic Role - You’ve Got Mail....ok, so he’s had dozens of better movies than this one.

But the point is that even in this retread fluff of a movie, he’s still touchingly sweet. How could Meg not fall for him? He’s subtle, charming, and sensitive.

And it’s without the corny lines from "Sleepless" like "So how does my butt look? " and "What is tira masu?" Best Picture by a Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump!

Yes, a double win for for the Gump man! And he deserves it. Tom Hanks - without question - made this movie.

And it was different, funny, bizarre, sad, moving...everything you could ask for from a movie-going experience. And he did it so deftly that it looked effortless. I don’t think he could ever top this role.

Good one! Comedy - A League of Their Own. Because there's no crying in baseball.

Drama - Forrest Gump. No explanation needed, that movie was just powerful. Romance - You've Got Mail.

Because they own bookstores and I want to own a bookstore too. All-Time - Big. How could you not love it?

It's funny and simultaneously sweet and genuine.

Let me think. Comedy - "run Forrest run"! I remember watching this movie over and over as a child and laughing my head off.

He acted so well in this one. Its a good drama but as it pertains to comedy this one won it hands down. I remember when he met Elvis and taught him his signature move and the like.

S friendship with Bubba and his how he became wealthy were also hilarious. Drama - Philadelphia. Hands down the best movie I have ever seen him act in.

I cried and cried and cried and each and every time I see it on television I have to watch it. I am not joking. It for me shows so many flaws within society and how injustice is prevalent.

He has a star studded supporting cast. Words for me can't even describe how good this movie is. Denzel was awesome as well but Hanks stole the show.

I was so sad when he died in the end. It was bitter sweet. Romance - "You've Got Mail" I laughed, I cried then said 'Awww'.

Meg and Tom did justice to the script. They were amazing. I liked the deviousness of his character when he becomes her friend while still being her mystery man.

All Time - "The Green Mile" I think was my all time favorite. I liked his character in this movie and I loved how he portrayed him. Just like Philadelphia each time I see this on Television I have to watch it.

I especially loved the part when he knocked Percy down for what he did to Eduard during his execution. I loved all of it and I especially loved how Micheal Duncan portrayed John. Overall I giv3e this movie 10 out of 10.

Favorite Tom Hanks Movies Green Mile(Drama, All time) Forest Gump(Romance, Drama) Toy Story 1&2 (Comedy, All Time) Big(Comedy) I cam think of a lot more, I simply love Tom Hanks & have already collected alot of his movies .

This one is tough... because there are so many great ones to choose from. Why? They’re all great.

Comedy: A League of Their Own - "There’s no crying in baseball! " Charlie Wilson’s War - I just saw this one and it’s freakin’ hysterical. Very current and poignant as well.

Bachelor Party - This movie is an oldie, but it’s just plain over the top fun. Romance: I’ve only seen one of these and it’s Sleepless in Seatle. Not generally my kind of movie, but I liked it.

Drama: For a guy that got his start in comedy, he’s done extremely well in this category (obviously) Saving Private Ryan - I’ve seen a lot of war movies and this one is the looks the most realistic. (But I’ve got no personal experience to base that on. ) Apollo 13 - Any movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat even when you already know how it turns out, has to be great.

Nothing in Common - Another oldie, with Jackie Gleason. This was the first drama I saw him in, and I enjoyed it, unexpectedly. Made me realize he really had some chops.

Castaway - A majority of the movie is him alone on that island, and he keeps you interested. Should’ve won an Oscar for this one IMHO. Philadelphia - A top notch performance, what else is there to say.

I would include Forrest Gump on this list, but I don’t really know if it’s a drama or comedy. All-Time I’d have to say any on this list, but Ryan and Apollo 13 are probably the ones I could watch the most often. I’m not going to include links to these DVDs because I don’t want to take up too much space.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
