What do I do about my young birch tree problem?

This is a great question. I love birch trees. Betula Alba, my favorite.

I planted three at one time in a sun-shade pattern from 1 gallon pots twenty-five years ago. One didn't take. A second withered some five years later.

The third I cut into firewood just last year. I hated to see it go, but I just couldn't give it the deep watering it needed. It rotted above with all the grass watering, and it died below in the hard dry soil.

They seem to be very competitive, so consider planting more, and letting the stronger few win out. In any case, look into deep watering.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
