I actually do have a CJ degree! I never thought anyone would ask that here! I got mine (bachelors) when I decided that I wanted to work with juveniles.
And upon graduation that’s exactly what I did. I worked as director of a youth employement and recreation program, until the federal funding ran out, then went to work as a youth specialist at a placement facility for teenage boys as a youth specialist. I left there to have a baby and never went back, however!
I think what you need really depends on what you want to do, but I do recommend the 4 year degree. This was made obvious when my husband, who was a long time police officer with an associates degree, was up for the chief of police position. He almost didn’t get the job due to the lack of that degree, despite his years of service in the community and all the additional training he took as an officer. So, no matter what the degree is in, it’s a really good thing to have if you want a good, professional job.
There is alot you can do with a Criminal Justice degree, it really just depends on your interest. And the "type" of person who has one is very broad, too.My nephew has a degree in CJ, and he is a police detective now. Others work in prisons, others do a wide variety of legal-type or govenmental work.
You could go into private investigation, or other kinds of security things.Hehehe...I have a CJ degree and now I’m a professional artist....you just never know! *Poppet*'s Recommendations ALL MEN ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL, ONLY THE FINEST BECOME POLICE OFFICERS Apron Amazon List Price: $20.99 .
Here is an answer Watch out for these off campus / advertise on TV / local trade school / programs. Watch the fine print that says, may not transfer to a real school. May not?
Will not is more like it.. GO to an accredited school / university. I can open a warehouse and call it a construction college, as long as I teach students how to use a hammer. Some law enforcement departments will not reconized the paper (diploma) that says you compleated (and paid for) the courses.

A criminal justice degree can also be a foundational degree for going to law school or pursuing a graduate degree in criminal justice, public administration, political science, sociology, and other social and behavioral sciences.
The baccalaureate (BS) program in Criminal Justice prepares graduates for careers in the criminal justice system or graduate school by combining a criminal justice studies with a foundation in the liberal arts and technology. Not all accreditation is equal. Accreditation from the wrong source (such as an accreditation mill) can be worse than no accreditation at all. Make sure that your online school is accredited by an agency recognized by either the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for gher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
These organizations maintain lists of legitimate accreditors. If you want your online degree to be widely accepted, select a school that is accredited by one of the six regional accreditation agencies recognized by both the USDE and CHEA. These are the same agencies that accredit reputable brick-and-mortar schools.
Many online schools are accredited by the Distance Education Training Council (DETC). This accreditor is also recognized by the USDE and CHEA. It is recognized by many employers.
However, DETC accreditation is not as widely accepted as regional accreditation. Many regionally accredited schools do not accept transfer credits from DETC accredited schools. Use discretion when selecting an online college with DETC accreditation.

Ex police officer here. I tool some CJ classes at University of SF while I was there I was heading for an Associates in CJ as part of my career path - most Inspectors at the time (kind of a very high up detective) in San Francisco were CJ associate degrees, while officers - Lieutenants, Captains, Deputy Chiefs, Chiefs - all had CJ or other Bachelor degrees. I figured that was the way I should go - but I ended up getting out of police work.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
