Kyle Maynard Suwanee, Georgia, U.S. Was born on March 24, 1986 with a rare disorder called congenital amputation. Biography He competed in the 2004 Georgia gh School Wrestling Championships. Maynard was 16-35 as a high school wrestler.
He graduated from Collins He is the recipient of a 2004 ESPN Espy Award for the Best Athlete With A Disability and has been featured on many radio interviews, talk shows and television programs. He has modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch. Currently he works as a speaker for the Washington Speaker's Bureau, specializing in motivational speeches.
He is also the author of the memoir No Excuses: The True Story of a Congenital Amputee Who Became a Champion in Wrestling and in Life (Regnery Publishing, 2005; ISBN 0-89526-011-5). Kyle Maynard is attending the University of Georgia and expects to graduate in 2008 with V. C in Broadcast News.
Kyle has recently began training in mixed martial arts, and there is an upcoming documentary on his story entitled A Fighting Chance. S debut fight was at Auburn Fight Night at the Auburn Covered Arena in Auburn, Alabama on April 25, 2009. Kyle lost his first mixed martial arts fight to Bryan Fry on a unanimous 30-27 judges' decision.
