Rolls eyes 'british english IS ENGLISH. But I see what youre aiming at saying. You don't need to find anything specific- any english, or british author writes in normal english, and their books will be in any library or bookshop in your country.

Decide on what genre you like, thriller, teen romance, historical, gothic, weird, fantasy- and search online for english authors in that genre. Im assuming youre american? Even your school library will have loads of english books, as well as any public library or bookshop.

In fact, youve probably got some yourself- jk rowling- english as they come. If you mean older fiction- ie- anything from over 60s years ago- there are still loads still in print. The austin books (about 200 years old) are still in print, and widely read.

The books are remade as films constantly- so you can read a book and then see it onscreen, which you might like to- it kind of cements things in your head a bit. Dickens is still published, but he's a much heavier read. They will have a much more 'stilted' and formal type of language in them, as would anything from america of the same period.

Read books by British authors. Thousands of books by British authors are readily available in the US, including many bestsellers. Don't just assume every book you see in an American bookshop was written by an American - plenty of them aren't.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
