What does "Klout" mean on Twitter and how is it calculated?

I hadn't heard of it before seeing this question, but I see on the Klout website that the Klout Score "measures influence based on your ability to drive action" on social networks. Apparently it's integrated with Twitter, Facebook, and Google+ -- maybe others too. I checked your Twitter profile and I don't see it there, so I'm not sure where it's appearing.

I signed up for Klout so maybe I'll learn more -- I also signed up to follow you on Twitter. :).

Thanks Brian. Sorry, it only shows in Hootsuite (associated with twitter). That's where I copied it from.

When, you click on a person's profile, the box above will come up.

Klout" was most likely derived from the word "Clout", meaning how much you influence someone. I would assume Klout is calculated by the number of retweets you receive. Plus I'm sure they calculate @mentions in too.

Klout score is based upon your influence in social media. They calculate it based upon number of factors in few social networking sites. Supported sites are Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumbler, Blogspot, FourSquare and many more.

With regard to Twitter, its about how many retweets you get, how often you tweet, how many replies you get etc. It is fairly easy to game if you really want to improve it.

I've gone all moody now. I'm only 13 in klout :(.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
