No. The Process has a self limiting feature. If the power is lost, the carbon arc making the material molten will cease.

With no arc, the top level of the material will soon cool and "crust" over. This solidification will prevent further release of toxic fumes. There will be an auxiliary power system to operate all components of the Air Emission System.
