After I got out of the Military,I purchased a Springfield 45 auto. Everyone one on the ranged liked how it shot(3 inch groups). One guy said he was going to buy one.
Ive owned two Springfield 45's,one Sig 220-45 auto, one Star PD-45 auto(compact),and one Norinco-45.My next 45 will be a Springfield. They go for around 599.00 now. Shooting Star makes an 8 shot mag for $30 dollars,it holds one more round than the Colt mag.
Carry 7 rounds in your Star mags,it will increase the life of your mag by 30%.
I bought a Citadel 1911 model .45 ACP about three months ago. I have since fired about 1000 rounds through it and haven't had any major problems with it. Most 1911's require a "break-in" period of about 250 rounds before the chamber and receiver tighten up enough.
The Citadel did not. It is imported from the Philipines by Armasco. Ran me just under 500 brand new with a spare magazine.
Rock Island also makes a very durable and well made 1911. It's from the Philipines are well. Taurus on the other hand, I have only heard bad things about.
Cheap craftsmanship and cheap parts. Kimber makes a very good 1911. They are top end and mostly used by competitive shooters.
For the price tag, I would say Citadel or Rock Island is the best way to go.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
