What is a good SAT score? And what are my chances of getting into UC Berkeley, LA, Davis, or Stanford?

The Sat scores needed to be admitted to Berkeley and Ucla are highly dependent on the API rating of the high school and the response to the first personal statement prompt An applicant from a high school with a low API rating needs on average a lower SAT or ACT score than the overall average scores to be admitted to Berkeley or UCLA if the GPA is at the average level for Berkeley or UCLA from that high school. We are not speaking of 50 or 100 points less. We are speaking on the order of 200-400 points less for the average combined scores for the Cr + Math section of the Sat.

A low API school can have an average Sat(Math + Cr) of 1050 while a high API school might have an average Sat(Math + Cr) score of those admitted and enrolled in the mid 1400 range. Since those who are admitted and do not enroll at most high schools enroll in other highly selective schools, they tend to have higher Sat scores than those who do enroll. The averages of all admits from high API schools is higher than the average of those who are admitted and enroll from high API schools.

Those with compelling hardship backgrounds described in the Personal Statement prompt might be admitted with substantially lower scores than the average from the high school Find your high school at the "School Reports" tab to see the averages for prior years students enrolled at Berkeley, UCLA and Davis: http://statfinder.ucop.edu More Information: http://www.ucop.edu/news/studstaff.html UC Personal Statement Prompts: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/ad… Stanford is probably out of the running unless you are being recruited for soccer, X-C or track, have extraordinary talent, wealthy legacy status, will add to the type of diversity Stanford is currently seeking or otherwise meet a similar need of Stanford's Brown is not as competitive as Staford and only 17% of applicants with a perfect 800 Sat Math were admitted, 20% with a perfect Sat Cr: http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Admi… Good Luck!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
