A vuvuzela is a blowing horn, about one metre in length, that is usually by fans at soccer matches in South Africa. They are very popular in South Africa and their particular sound can be heard in most matches there. It emits a loud monotone like a foghorn that can be very distracting to soccer players. They are currently in the news as the soccer World Cup is starting on the11th June 2010 in South Africa and as the Vuvuzela is a symbol of soccer in South Africa, it will feature a lot in the World Cup.
