What is better? A stair-machine or a treadmill?

Honestly, it would depend on the goal. A stair machine will work the upper leg muscles to a greater degree... So if your goal was to build better thigh muscles, then the stair master would be better. If your goal was to get a better cardiovascular workout, then the tread mill would work better. It's hard to say which one is better, because as you can see, each machine offers different benefits.

Stair Machine - for a good upper leg workout. Offers less cardio. Tread Mill - will work the entire leg, and offers a lot more of a cardiovascular workout.

Since treadmills don't stress the knees nearly as much as stair machines do, I believe treadmills are the better choice. You are more likely to use a treadmill into old age, assuming it lasts that long.

Personaly I prefer a stair-machine. I have a small treadmill at my house and it can't go as fast as I'd like it to. I've ran on good treadmills before, but it just doesn't feel right, you can't speed up and slow down super easily like when you run outside. It can even be scary going at such high speeds doing sprints.

Stair-machines may be harder on my nees, but they give me the better more intense workout that I need. If you have a choice get an ellipitcal or bike instead because you can push yourself to the max without falling off and getting injured, but I'd take a stair-machine over a treadmill anyday.

If for the home, then I'd say a stair machine. Takes up less space and, over time, will require less maintenance.

Depends on what you want - stairs is a more intense workout, but tougher on the joints - treadmill is less intense, but easier on the body, so you can do it longer for better cardio benefits. The best of both worlds may be a treadmill with an adjustable lift on it.

Treadmill is better because stair machine exercise becomes bore and you may loose your will power amd determination towards fitness....better go for treadmill because with the help of music you can work out more in treadmill than stair machine.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
