What is Bhagwat Geeta is all about?

Bhagwat Geeta is the part of Mahabharata. I will like to put the back ground of Bhagwat Geeta. I mean why it was told by Lord Krishna to Arjuna.

In ancient time, there was the kingdom of Bharat or Kuru dynasty in north India. The capital was named as Hastinapur. There were two bothers, Pandu and Dhrutarastra.

Pandu had five sons called as Pandawas. Arjuna was one of them. The third one!

Another brother Dhrutarastra had hundred sons. They were called as Kaurawas. The Dhuryodhana was the eldest and chief of them all.

Then came the time to divide the state into two parts, half for the Kaurawas and half for the Pandawas. Krishna was relative of both of them. Lord Krishna tried his level best to do the compromise, so as to avoid the conflict and war.

The Duryodhana refused to give any part of the state to Pandawas. So to avoid the conflict, Krishna had a proposal! He requested Duryodhna to give give only five villages to Pandawas for that they should be able to sustain.

The war could have been avoided by this solution very easily. The Duryodhana became very adamant. Duryodhana said that he will not give the land that can be accommodated on the tip of the needle.

That was the 'extreme' step. God is very categorically against the extremism and extremists. So Lord Krishna advised Pandawas to go for holy war.

Then the day of war came. Both the armies came front to front. Lord Krishna was the sarathi (driver) of the ratha (Vehicle driven by five horses.) of the Arjuna.

Arjuna requested the Lord Krishna to take his vehicle in between the two forces. Arjuna saw that the relatives had come to fight with him. Arjuna went in severe psychological depression.

He refused to fight the war for the earthly things. Then fallowed the Geeta. It was the advice of the Lord Krishna to Arjuna to fight the holy war.

There was lot of interaction between Lord Krishna and Arjuna. That is collectively mentioned in Bhagwat Geeta. Lord Krishna told Arjuna that only lucky ones get the chance to fight the holy war.

If the Arjuna wins the war, he can enjoy the kingdom of the earth. If Arjuna dies in the holy war he will go to heaven. Either way it was beneficial to Arjuna.

Lord Krishna said that the Arjuna should kill the opposite army with out any prejudiced mind. Then there will be no sin. So as per Lord Krishna extremism should be eradicated with out any prejudice Extremism is harmful to the society and ecosystem.

And this is how the Bhagwat Geeta is all about.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
