What is it about being Chicago's 1997 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR that disturbs you so much about William Ayers?

Those people have obviously never been to Chicago. A lost cause? They're merely ignorant.

This is a gorgeous city located on the shores of a knockout beautiful Great Lake. It boasts world-class cultural institutions -- symphony, ballet, opera, art museums and famous theaters -- major professional sports teams, fabulous shopping, top restaurants, an extremely extensive public transportation system, and highly-regarded universities, including one that has produced more Nobel Prize winners than any other university in the world and is considered one of the top institutions of higher education on the planet. It's regularly inundated with tourists from all over the US and world.

They obviously think Chicago is worth visiting. Yes, there's a crime problem, but it's largely confined to a few limited areas and for the most part -- sadly -- involves black on black crime. I've lived in other major cities with similar problems.

Before I moved to Chicago 14 years ago, I had lived all over the country and in Europe. Of all of the cities in which I have lived, Chicago is my favorite. Lost cause?

Not remotely.

Yes, they are American citizens. People who say otherwise are racists who likely think that due to the large presence of African Americans.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
