What is the BEST 1080p LCD TV for an Xbox 360 Elite? Tell me about your personal experience with a set that has NO LAG?

Tell me about your personal experience with a set that has NO LAG. As stated in the question, I am mainly concerned with lag issues and consider subjective opinions about picture quality to be secondary (a close second to be sure, but lag is most important). I would especially like to hear from fighting game fanatics and Halo experts about their personal experiences with 1080p LCD sets that have no lag, and also to hear whether it matters whether I connect using VGA or HDMI.

I am looking at recent Samsung sets in the 42" to 46" range, most if not all of which boast a "game mode" that is supposed to help eliminate lag. Is this a good bet or should I look at something else? Please note that while I'm mainly asking about lag 1080p from a 360, I will also be connecting a Wii and probably a PS2, original Xbox and GameCube from time to time, so if that's an issue please say so.

Samsungs and Sonys, from personal experience, won't dissappoint. No lag with Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. Sort of a long, rambling answer here.

Summary: Sony and Samsung = 5 out of 5 stars in the "no lag" department. I personally have a Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46XBR4 46" 1080p LCD HDTV in my living room and a 32-inch LCD Bravia (1080i -- that set is a couple years old) in my "man cave" and have never experience any lag issues while playing Xbox 360 games online (or in campaign mode). I play a lot of Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.No lag.

I am usually forced (by my wife) to play on the smaller set. On both sets, I connect my satellite box and TV via HDMI but haven’t bothered doing so yet with my Xbox 360 (Elite). I use the VGA connections and the picture is outstanding.

No lag, as I mentioned, with Xbox Live playing any game, including Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4. I suppose I’ll get around to picking up another HDMI cable at some point but really am not in a hurry to do so ... since why fix it if it ain’t broke? Now, regarding Samsungs.

I have a couple of friends (including my best friend from college) who play Xbox 360 games online with me who have Samsungs. My best friend has a 46’’ Samsung that he uses ... it’s LCD and 1080p but I don’t know the model number. I remember him bragging it did have a "game mode" though.

Anyway, we play Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 a few nights a week. He lives in Chicago and I live near San Francisco. A few weeks ago I visited him and his wife when I was in town on business.

I usually bring my Xbox 360 with me on business trips (yes, I am a geek) and one evening we fired up some local multiplayer games -- and then got on Xbox Live as usual. He used the 46’’ Samsung in his "man cave" and I connected my Xbox to their older 42" Samsung (they love Samsung) in the living room. The Samsung I used was 1080i and also LCD.

I think this was pre-game mode, but still, I experienced no lag whatsoever with both the local games and Xbox Live gameplay. We traded spots at one point because I wanted to see what the difference would be playing on the larger screen with their surround sound system down there. I couldn’t detect any difference in terms of lag.

Exceptional experience. Of course, the surround sound in the man cave combined with the larger set was amazing ... but that is another story. :-) Details: He has the 46’’ Samsung connected via HDMI to his 360.

I used my VGA cables on the 42" TV because it only had one HDMI port and that one was connected to their cable box. No lag with either setup. Summary: You can’t go wrong with Samsung or Sonys in the no-lag area.

If you want to talk with other gamers for their opinion, join the online gaming community I belong to and ask them for their opinions. It’s called "Seasoned Gamers" and it’s where old folks like me can fill up their friend list with grown-ups ... fellow "seasoned" gamers. ;-) My gamer tag is "Dirty Dieds," by the way.

Feel free to shoot me a friends request if you’d like. Sources: My Xbox, my Sony, my friend's Samsung, my friend's Xbox .

I love my Sony XBR Kind of pricey, but it does have a game mode, lots of tweakable settings, and shooters look awesome with no noticeable washout, pixelation or lag. I have a 52", but they make em smaller. It also has a light sensor which automatically adjusts the brightness based on the ambient lighting in the room.

I can play with all the blinds open and direct sunlight shining on the TV (although I don't ). As a tip, I found mind at electroniqueplus.com. I got the 52" for $2699, but it looks like the are higher now.

. Getting a monitor with the fastest refresh rate will help, but might not be as good as what you'll see in high-end CRT screens. If you're concerned with lag in terms of the CPU--screen--your reaction--internet connection--the on-screen result--etc. Like you see in twitch-gaming discussions relating to MMORPGs, then... well... yeah.

I've got a 40" Samsung set that I'm very pleased with. I've got a 40" Samgung LCD 1080p set that I'm very happy with. I've got a PS3, Xbox 360, and a Wii hooked up to it and have absolutely no problems.

I've hooked up the 360 via component cables and HDMI cables and they both look great, sound great, and, best of all, no lag. It does have a "game mode" on it too, which is nice, but I have never actively been like, "I need to turn game mode on to eliminate lag. " I would definitely recommend a Samsung one.

I've had it for over a year now and it is pretty amazing.

The Best LCD TV for Gaming:I'm shocked to see no mention of the Sharp Aquos with Vyper Drive or the Panasonic Viera LCD. These are two TV's that execute gaming to near flawless levels. My son and brother respectively have these sets after buying on recommendation from Wallace Piece.

The Panasonic is more preferred for those that want a smaller set (at 32") and it comes with an iPod Dock to load your music. Not only is the gameplay super smooth, but the picture clarity is sharp and vibrant as the clear blue sky. It's a 720p, and you actually don't need 1080p at that size.

The Sharp Aquos is what they call "A Gamer's Dream". This TV is specifically built to operate at flawless levels for a larger size HDTV (46" or above). It even eliminates lag on the more graphic-intensive and motion-sensitive game such as Guitar Hero, COD, Halo etc.If you are looking for an exceptional gaming experience you really have to check these set's out.

If you can control ambient light.... If you can control ambient light, a DLP projector is the way to go. You can find top rated 720p projectors for under a grand now, and I am just waiting for a top rated 1080p projector to break the 2k barrier. Lag?

No problem whatsoever... DLP is not LCD. Nothing, absolutely nothing, beats the 106 inch screen I play on.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
