You didn't ask, but the best way to avoid a hangover is to take two alka seltzers in 16 oz. Of water before you go to bed. The absolute best thing to drink for a hangover is actually Pedialyte.
Gatorade is o.k. , but Pedialyte has more electrolytes in it. No caffeine at all, because you're already dehydrated (alcohol is a diuretic, remember?).
Aspirin, pedialyte and lots of water will help more than anything.
The best way to recover from a hangover is to just stay in bed and time will make it go away. Granted, it's not the most efficient way but it does work. One thing to do is rehydrate your body and bring back its electrical balance.
Drink coffee, tea or water. But it still requires time to get over it. You can also eat a fatty meal like a hamburger, which will help.
Over the counter cures include Alka-Seltzer which really do help with hangovers. Another thing is to drink sport drinks like Gatorade-anything with a high mineral level.
There are over the counter pills and such but I wouldn't recommend them personally. A hangover is caused by dehydration. Avoid caffeine, intake mass amounts of water or Gatorade which will rehydrate.
A long shower or bath also helps. If you drank so much you became sick, a good hearty meal high in protein and fiber is good. The best time to counter act a hangover is actually while your still drinking or just before you go to bed.
I talk a bit about that on the mahalo how to sober up fast page.
There are no cures for a hangover but a nutritional supplement called NAC (N-Acetylcysteine) can be taken to help reduce or even prevent liver damage and help detoxify the body faster. A B-Complex vitamin can also be taken as they are commonly used up during the metabolism of alcohol. NSAID type drugs such as tylonal and ibuprofen can be taken to ease pain but they should NEVER be taken while still under the influence of alcohol.
NAC should be taken with food to prevent stomach upset. A suggested dose of about 600mg for each alcoholic beverage consumed is recommended.
If you have ever been to an oxygen bar, starting your night with pure oxygen is said to help to avoid hangovers although there aren't too many of those in most cities and medical grade oxygen is hard to come by otherwise. A few more tips are, like someone else said, to rehydrate. Although coffee is a diuretic which mean it actually dehydrates you so don't drink that unless you want to double your chance at passing out from dehydration.
Make sure to also intake a lot of electrolytes and vitamin C. This will help your body to flush out the alcohol that it's trying to get rid of. Hangovers are actually caused because your body is dehydrated and straining to rid itself of the excess toxins you were hammering down the night before. So anything to help it out in the process will get your day going up to speed much faster.
A couple of other remedies include eating a greasy breakfast to help soak up the alcohol in your system or to just drink some more. If you tell your body the party isn't quite over it'll just go with the flow so to speak (thank god for Manswers for those two). Just to recap fill up to soak up and drink to flush or to continue the fun (depending on which route you choose to take).
I'm sure the alka seltzer would be helpful also. If not then I guess it ain't really doing it's job although I always try to stick to all natural since most over the counter and prescribed drugs are meant to fix symptoms and not the root of the problem. Have you ever seen a prescription drug that they didn't want you to take for the rest of your life?
Although that's beside the point. Hope you avoid those nasty hangovers and party on yo.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
