What is the difference between French and (Extra Fine) Swiss lace, Polyurethane (PU/Thin Skin) and Monofilament?

French lace is the most durable of the two laces, and is best for new wearers. Swiss lace is the most undetectable of the two, but the most fragile. This is best for experienced wearers.

Thin Skin bases are more durable and also gives the appearance of hair growing from the scalp. The bottom layer of thin skin base is a thin specially blend of Polyurethane materials that and is best used in cooler climates and imitates the appearance of skin. When you place it against your own skin, thin skin is invisible and virtually undetectable to touch.

When attached, it feels extremely secure and seems to vacuum-seal itself to your scalp. Thin Skin can be requested at the perimeter of the unit. It can be extremely hot, so it is not recommended as the material for a full cap.

Monofilament is a good base choice for a higher-density system. It is stiffer than lace and holds its shape very well. You cannot use Mono for an exposed hairline, but you can add a lace front onto a Mono base.
