What is the future of Matter and Anti-Matter Fusion as a power sourse?

Bright but distant. Using particle accelerators we can make anti-matter, but the costs are huge; one ounce of anti-matter is more than the GNP of the US. Currently, it is just too expensive to create.

Star Trek uses antimatter to power their ships. The fantasy part is where they focus and amplify it through the dilithium crystal. The most powerful reaction we know of is the total annihilation caused by two particles of anti-matter coming together.

If we ever send manned ships to the stars they will probably be anti-matter powered. But, to do that we need to bring the cost way down, and we need to find a way to handle it. Storage of anti-matter is difficult because if it contacts the container for just and instant it explodes.

The only way we know to contain it right now would be to spin it in a donut shaped magnetic field. We are trying to do that with fusion power, and have been trying since the 1970s with no success. If the plasma in a fusion reactor contacts the wall it will only ... more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
