What is the libertarian's view on a state deciding to repeal the the 1960s Civil Rights Act?

I'm not a libertarian, but I like to think I grasp their ideology a bit I think for libertarians it's not about protecting rights. Do you have the right to patronize all businesses? I don't know if that really makes sense.

I mean, I for one want to live in a society that does not have businesses that only take customers of a certain race. But for the fed gov to punish them for doing that, is social engineering. Libertarians would believe that people in society should be left to work out these troubles with maximum liberty, even if it means peaceful segregation (ugh, I know, but I think that's how the argument goes and it does make sense if you understand the value system being applied).

They'd only wish to use the gov't to protect people from actual harm. Like if a store had a sign saying whites only, they would presumably lose some busine$$ and therefore have a reason to change it, if a competing business served people of all races really well. But if they had a local monopoly on toilet paper and would only sell it to whites, or if they had a thug on the street outside their business harassing passing people based on race, then the gov't would have a reason to crack down Libertarianism is pretty idealistic and perhaps naive, and tends to attract those who've never faced marginalization.

Like anarchy it also relies on an assumption of little diversity of values within communities. But the core libertarian values can't be construed as supportive of racism. Only the complex effects of libertarian policies in the real world, might.

Libertarians are NOT trying to repeal anything. Try and remember that it was the democraps that attempted to no. T have the law passed in the first place!

I have every right to know who the racists, bigots, and nut cases are in my community. Its easier to boycott them if they post it on their shop doors and windows.

Businesses have the right to segregate their businesses if they want to.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
