Back in 2007, Oklahoma was recovering from some of the worst ice storms in history. I was a reporter for the local paper, and it was my job to do spot reporting and cover local government. I had to attend an early morning press conference with local law enforcement and emergency management crews about clean up efforts and emergency programs.
After I arrived, I noticed that the chief of police and some of his deputies were staring at my chest. After I greeted everyone, I looked down and noticed that my shirt was unbuttoned about halfway. My bra was showing, as was most of my cleavage.
The chief of police always smiled at me a lot after that day.
I have had my share of embarrassing moments. But, one that just came to mind is the time I was working in a retail store and one of our regular customers was pregnant ( I also was pregnant and we had talked often). I had not seen her in a few weeks when she came shopping.
She was still wearing her maternity dress and her stomach was still quite large and she did not have a baby with her. I ventured over to her and her husband and casually said " when are you going to have that baby? " I was mortified when she said, "I ALREADY HAVE!"
I apologized, but felt horrible for a long time. I was young, my first pregnancy and had no idea that your tummy could hang around long after the baby was born.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
