When I was a snotty teenager, Upward Bound brought in a speaker to motivate us. The man is blind (I'm assuming he hasn't been to Lourdes and gotten their "miracle" healing. ) He began by noting that when he was in school, teachers and couselors told him that his blindness was going to limit his options and that he should aim at something simple and non-collegelike.
