It depends on the quality of service. If the service is excellent I will spend 25 or 30 % but if it is bad I might not give anything or maybe 5 %.
Usually 15%, although if they are really good it could be 20%+. If they are lousy I still give them at least 10%. Service work sucks.
I usually do around 20%. I have tipped as low as 5% for extremely poor service and as high as 50% for exceptional service.
Maybe 10% if they were rude or really inattentive.
I feel very put out that it is virtually mandatory to tip in America when the service is beyond poor at times.
In the UK, I always tip 10% if the service has been of what I consider a reasonable standard. I will double to treble it for service that has really made my experience at their restaurant.
If service is substandard then I will not tip at all. I have worked in the industry as an assistant restaurant manager and my standards are very high, but I'm also sympathetic to the hours and hard work put in by GOOD WAITERS.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
