Like conception. Why is it important to maintain a certain pH, not to go into acidosis or alkalosis? Anything else interesting when it comes to acids and bases in the human body or used to treat it?

The blood is buffered Your body depends critically on having a particular pH. Even a slightly higher or lower pH will throw off one or more chemical reactions that you depend on. That applies to almost every reaction in your metabolism.Gh levels of acid or base will also cause proteins to denature, making enzyme activity impossible.
Fortunately, your body is prepared to deal with that. The blood is loaded with buffering agents, so adding either acid or base will leave you with very nearly the same pH you started with (about 7.4, very slightly basic). Because of that, acidosis and alkaloidosis are pretty hard to achieve.
You can drink a fair amount of lemon juice, vinegar, baking soda, and milk without overcoming the buffering. You can also work your body into lactic acidosis, but it takes a superhuman effort achievable only by world-class athletes. That's why organ failure is the most common cause of it.
So for the most part you don't really worry about acidosis or alkalosis when you're healthy. You don't have to actively avoid them. Sources: usyd.edu.au/anaes/lectures/acidbase_mjb/... .
My body pH is about 5 which is not good. I can't eat alot of foods right now. PH about 7 is good.. if not your bones will dissolve away to act as a buffer.
Mitochondria don't work as well when they are acidic. Viruses, bacteria, parastics, fungus, cancer love acidic conditions. Apple cider vinegar and baking soda help treat this and eating minerals to neutralize pH..
1 Enzymes need a certain temperature and pH to work also.

2 Just about everything in your body works at a fairly narrow range of pH. Fortunately, the body is generally quite good at keeping it within the desired ranges. This user has been banned from Askville.

4 Unfortunately, Shasha has been suckered by medical scam artists who have convinced her that hair and urine tests accurately measure ph and "contaminant" levels, and although several of us have tried time and again to show her how wrong that is, she refuses to believe us. For the rest of you who are not Shasha - don't be fooled. Get good medical information from reputable sources, including your doctor, and don't trust anyone who wants to sell you miracle cures or similar BS.

(Specifically acids and bases, unless you reply quickly. )" "what is the clinical significance of pH?" "When should you take BCAA (branched chain amino acids) for all you body builders out there.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
