You need psn+ , it doesn't matter what account you use and there is no such thing as a ps3 account , it is a psn account and used on any ps console what sucks is that people complain that they have to spend less than 4 dollars a month to help with the server maintenance costs , its not like its free for sony to provide that service , plus you are getting 10 times that much or more in free games and can save more than the total cost of the membership in discounts in a month so you aren't just paying for nothing.
