What kind of flooring would you use in a 3 season room? Needs to be water proof and can withstand cold tempatures?

Needs to be water proof and can withstand cold tempatures. This is wisconsin, so in winter the room gets down to very cold tempatures. I do not want to use carpet because of the water that come into the area all the time (the dogs always go in and out of this room).

I need to find a flooring that will not get damaged with the cold tempatures or warmer tempatures in the summer. I was ready to go with VCT tiles, but armstrong told me not to use them in any enviroment that will get below 55 degrees because they can shrink and become damaged. The room used to have carpet in it, and it was a mess.

I am leaning towards sheet vinyl, but want to find out if there are other options I should consider. Asked by AkivaTheDog 52 months ago Similar questions: kind flooring season room water proof withstand cold tempatures Home > Home Improvement.

Bamboo flooring would work Bamboo flooring is eco-friendly and would be durable -- basically maintenance-free and very durable. Should be no problem with very cold temps -- and very hot temps. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bamboo_floor .

How about concrete! There are so many new things they are doing to concrete. Like, adding colors and textures.

Some even look like pavers or stones. I’ve seen some that look like stone. They are beautiful.

Check it out. Concrete withstands anything, just think of roads, driveways, sidewalks and garage floors. Some people even make their countertops out of concrete.

Very pretty. Look up progressive concrete flooring or the like and I bet you will find something you love. Good luck with this, and concrete would be the way I’d go.

1 Dieds, regarding your answer "Bamboo flooring would work": I looked at bamboo flooring breifly, it is kind of neat. My concern with it was that the people I asked about it told me that it should not be used in a area that gets wet like a porch, kitchen, or entry way. Do you have any experiance with having a bamboo floor in a area that gets wet a lot?

Any thoughts on having it in a very wet / moist entry area? Maybe there are different kinds of bamboo flooring...? .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
