What makes Jerusalem important to Russia?

The conflict is over $$$. The eastern Ukraine is sitting on a huge pool of natural gas. When the Ukraine was part of the old USSR, all of this gas was piped into the USSR, who then sold it.

About a year ago, one of the free Ukrainian ministers was talking, & wondered how much it would cost to build a new pipeline from the Ukrainian field directly to Europe, & cut Russia out of the loop. Being that the place was riddled with Russian symphizers, that comment quickly got back to Putin. Now, back in Russia, things have been 'tight' for the last twenty years, if fact, Russia has been flat broke since the USSR collapsed in '93.

The ONLY thing that has kept the country afloat is selling the natural resources, like coal, oil & NATURAL GAS. Putin knew that the loss of the Ukrainian natural gas sales would make things just that much harder, so he stirred-up the Ukrainians with Russian sympathy to fake a rebellion. The rest is history.... It was planned & executed by Moscow....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
