There HE really is a BIG deal as a writer. Louis Dearborn L'amour wrote at least 105 novels, of which at least 35 became movies on their own, and had his fans as well as his critics. But NO other writer could make you feel like you were right there in the scene in any of his books described better than he.
The man was a stickler for detail and depth of which many still try to emulate but can't. I have read at least 80 LL books so far and have never ever been disappointed. Even his short stories find a way to get you totally involved and absorbed.
Many a rainy wet day were saved by his books. However to each his/her own, but personally I will read anything attributed to this prolific writer who could trigger your imagination, pull you into his books and touch your heart too. READ the Sackett series to better get to know LDL.
Thanks Mikayla for your question. Good reading!
Louis Lamour has been dead for a long time. (he died in '88) I know his books are still tremendously popular. Personally, I never cared for his writing style.
One book of his I read, can't recall the title, a man was trapped in some place like Siberia or? And every time he needed something, it seemed to appear for him, whether food or some tool he needed to survive. The plot just seemed contrived to me.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
