What pleasant memories come back to you when you first heard Brian Wilson?

As a life-long fan of one of the greatest American bands of all-time (I have all the Beach Boys LPs and CDs....all the solo work by Carl, Dennis, Brian, Al Jardine and Mike Love.....not to mention Bruce Johnston), I've always said if you wanted feel-good music, you listened to the Beach Boys - they were perhaps the only group you could listen to that would make breaking up and teen-aged angst feel good! From "Surfin' Safari" and "Surfin' USA" through hot rod songs like "409" Brian Wilson has proven himself to be a true musical genius and perhaps the best American composer/arranger/producer of the last 50 years. I'm just happy to see that Brian is still working and considering all the hell he went through during the '60's and '70's, he deserves all the success he's having as a solo artist.

It will be a long time before anyone can even come close to matching his work and in the future, a good way to compliment someone for their music would be to tell them it sounds like a Brian Wilson song. OldHippieHatesNewAV 58 months ago.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
