What type of massage and what kind of stretching exercise is good for back pain?

I recommend Thai Yoga Massage, as it applies gentle passive stretching and rhythmic movements to open up stiff joints and release neuromuscular tension. Stretching is not the issue, it is stretching properly. I advise being under the direction of a yoga teacher or professional who can teach you to stretch properly.
