SUN! But I call it a "mental health day", lol. That is the only weather I have ever skipped work for.

I think rain and snow are best enjoyed from indoors, or in small amounts - like going from car to office. But sunshine? Ah, now that I take seriously.

I'm sure more than one boss has wondered when I return from a sick day with a healthy glow (fever? ) but it's essential to my well-being. There is nothing that recharges my "batteries" like an hour spent lazing in warm sunshine, either listening to nature, or good music, or reading.

Snow, always Now don't laugh because now I work at home, so my "commute" consists of walking down the hallway. When I worked outside the house, it was always snow that would make me think two or three times about going in and if the snow was coming down hot and heavy, that was it. I was staying home.

Funny because ice and more importantly black ice is more dangerous. At least in snow, if you know how to drive, you can have traction. My husband worked for a large corporation that never and I mean never closed so he always had to go in regardless of the weather. In the 1970's New England had some fierce winter snow storms and at one point the governor of our state closed down the entire state so the snow crews could clear the roads.

Not for my husband, he had to go to work. Funny thing, he was a corporate accountant. Now what couldn't wait a day or two?

Still don't know to this day. Weather to skip work... for me, is snow. I have a 40-mile commute, through very hilly country, some of which is on very isolated roads. When the weather gets bad, I leave early, or call in and work from home. It's a dangerous drive in the snow or in icy conditions, and while I like the job very much, I'm not going to risk my life getting there and back.

I'm on a long-term temp position, and I'm not about to blow off what I'm doing--having the income is essential, and I have no benefits, no job security--nothing but what I'm bringing in on the day to day hourly pay. So it can be the most gorgeous day possible--and I'm at my desk, cranking out the technical writing. SImple as that. No sick days.No vacation days. Nada.

SNOW I am a tropical boy (living in florida), so cold weather is going to be a million times worse to me that heat or rain.

Snow/ sleet I have an hour commute so I would be terrified to be caught halfway ( once it happened). I work in a public school so I usually don't have to worry about it. Sources: commute .

Doormat that say hot=sunny, wet=rain, cold=snow, gone=tornado.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
