What would happen to America if it had universal health care (like Australia, Japan, Switzerland have)?

My late grandfather was born in 1901... started attending political meetings when he was 12... I remember when he was in his late 70's .. he would often have a chuckle about how there was a fear of *REDS UNDER THE BEDS*... he said that he first heard these fears at the meetings he first attended.... and that THEY WERE STILL UNFOUNDED... well as an Aussie... I can tell you some 1/4 of a century AFTER my grandfather's death... There's STILL no Reds under the Beds of Aussies.. despite decades of national health care.... It's all right-winged hype .... Health care SHOULD not be a commodity.. Health care should NOT be a luxury ... by all means if somebody wants a mansion or a luxury yatch.. YOU GO OUT AND WORK YOUR BUTT OFF FOR THEM.. but health care .. national health care IS a betterment for an entire nation... like education.. and I toss in Aged Care.... AND NO IT WON'T TURN YOUR NATION INTO A COMMUNIST NATION.... the day *they* start saying NATIONAL MANSIONS AND YATCHS FOR ALL .... is the day you'd start worrying about communism...NOT health care.

The answer to why conservatives (who aren't the owners of the place where they work) is found in an ancient riddle I just made up. The true riddle of the Sphinx : "Why would anyone support the best interest of the Pharaoh over the interest of themselves, hoping that Pharaoh will get full enough to give his scraps to them before it rots?" The answer: "Because they are so self loathing they hate the slave next to them more than slavery itself.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
