What could be wrong if the transmission on a 1997 Chevy Tahoe changes very slowly but the transmission fluid is clean and there are no metal flakes in it?

Shift point setting may not properly set at the right pressure. This is controlled by the TV or shift cable. If you look where the air butterfly plate is under the hood, or air control, the 2nd cable attached next to the throttle cable on the side is the TV cable.

There is a metal tab that can be pushed in to release the cable housing to adjust the transmission shift points. It only takes a couple of clicks at a time to make a difference in your shift pattern, so go a little at a time.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
