There are so many! I've never been skiing in Europe, but I've been to most of the major resorts here in the U.S. It's hard to pick just one, but if I had to narrow it down I'd say Vail, Aspen/Snowmass, Steamboat Springs, Park City, and Jackson Hole. All of these resorts are large enough to be a sure thing and to have enough variety of everything (trails, lodging, restaurants) to please anyone.

If nightlife is important to you, then I'd also add Heavenly Valley to the list, which has both great skiing and nightlife. If you do not snowboard, I'd also consider Deer Valley. These are all some of the largest and most well-known, which means they will also be the most expensive.

Vail was my favorite resort when I was young and single, but I haven't been there for years. Now that I have a family, Steamboat Springs is my favorite family resort.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
