Not exactly. Story is the study of past events. Usually when we say "history," we're implying the history of humans, but you could also say Art story or Natural Human history is a type of social studies.

Social Studies is concerned with any aspect of human society. That includes human history, but also a bunch of other stuff like psychology, economics, human geography and more. I know it's kind of a technical answer, but your question is kind of a technical one.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
