If you look at most fashion magazines and the models in the runway shows you will see that fingernails are rarely used as a fashion accessory. Most women who have a reputation as being fashion forward opt for a set of well manicured natural nails, not acrylic, not too long and painted in subtle colors. The Daily Beauty blog states that this year khaki is the new black and suggests the Khaki collection from Chanel for nails.

The long acrylic nail look from years past although still popular with some, are really not considered in fashion as it takes away from your look and can be distracting. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
