Some blind people do dream in color If the person has been blind since birth, then no, they won't dream in color. But those who lost their vision later in life will dream in color. Sources: afb.org/message_board_replies.asp?TopicI... .

From a good friend who was blind--he dreamed in color. This was a friend from several years ago--and a very amazing fellow. He drove a Harley with someone else behind him.

At the time I was teaching massage and he was taking the class. He was one of those amazing people that you would never forget. He didn't let being blind slow him down.

He was married and had a child who was not blind. Some people you meet leave an impression on your heart forever--and he was one of those people. Sources: Life experience.

There is no effective way to test this. I do know that studies of brainwave patterns during dreaming or visualization with your eyes closed show that images you see in your mind have the exact same brainwave pattern as if your eyes were open and you were actually looking at the object. So that would suggest that the blind "see" in their dreams just like the sighted do in normal visual experience, but this is just conjecture.

2 I would say that if a person is blind from birth (having never seen) they would still dream in color but it would be spashes of color an no objects would form. It then have never seen anything then those object are not in their mind to be re-used to form dreamed images... and so their dreams would be devoid of recognizable images. Possibly they would dream their own experiences... the sounds, feelings, touch, smells, sounds, etc... still devoid of objects.

If they have seen before then they could dream of objects because those objects would be known to them and so could be reused in dream making.
