When Jesus asked God to forgive them for they know not what they do. Did he really think that's a proper reason to forgive anybody?

Well no, because the claim is god is invisible and he wants you to believe in him only because you want to. Not because some glaring evidence appears right in front of your face. Because it is more blessed to not have seen god but to still believe in him.

So god is invisible and covers his tracks on purpose, but leaves just the tiniest amount of a trace so you can sort of kind of weakly find him. How nice.

You deliberately ignore the facts, so there is no point in presenting it again. But just as a reminder, Jesus gave us a challenge (an objective "litmus test", so to speak) to prove that He is who He claimed to be). You reject the challenge, and that only proves that the only reason you don't believe in God is because you don't WANT to believe in God, and for no other reason, you are stubborn and your mind is set in concrete, and your theme song is "Don't confuse me with Truth, my mind's already made up."

This kind of question is absolutely hypocritical because you don't really want answers, you just want excuses!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
