When the republicans controlled the White House and Congress between 2001-2006, what did they accomplish?

No, I 100% do NOT trust the Republicans on anything related to budget. They keep proposing the SAME OLD-SAME OLD, tax cuts for the richest 1.5%, no government interference (which translates to mean NO OVERSIGHT and NO CONSUMER PROTECTIONS), and their failed-three-times-now supply-side ("trickle on down") economics which has devasted our middle class, our manufacturing base, and our economy every single time used by the last three Republican administrations---made far WORSE this last time precisely BECAUSE of the GOP totalitarianism from 2001 through January 2007. They are not good with a budget...simple as that.

President Clinton cleaned up after the Reagan/Bush-Bush/Quayle messes (to include the collapsed savings and loan industry, a precursor to the massive collapse of our housing and credit markets, which then precipitated the (deregulated thanks to the GOP) FINANCIAL SYSTEM MELTDOWN that had been eight years in the making. Democrats are better with a budget, better for this nation and its citizens, and better for the world as a whole...and the GOP is now a house divided against itself, doomed to fail.

Wow. I wish we *could* repeat those years! Back when we had less than 5% unemployment and a Dow over 14,000?

It was heaven. I would love to go back to those good ole days. Now we're in living hell.

It feels like a totalitarian dictatorship nowadays. Over 15% unemployment and 30 trillion in debt. Nearly 10 million have lost jobs since Obama got in.

And every day we watch our freedoms fly out the door as Obama puts his Marxist agenda into place. His regime is full of communists, thugs, Marxists, and racists. It's frightening.

If I could go back in time I'd go back to that era. I watched my stock portfolio go up at a 45 degree angle during those years. This time I'd sell everything when the democrats win congress.

Wish I'd done that in 2007. You've made us all long for the good ole Bush days. (Never thought I'd say that.).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
