Where can I get cheap lab coats and goggles for a science project?

My husband and daughter are entering the science fair this year and I wanted to surprise them with matching coats and goggles. I don't want to spend a lot of money. Any ideas?

Used would be ok too. Asked by JuJuB 57 months ago Similar questions: cheap lab coats goggles science project Science.

I noticed when have work done at the U. Of Iowa Dental College that all the students wear disposable lab coats. They are attractive with knit arm bands and a substantial paper/gauze type material.

I looked for these online for you, but they want to sell them by the case. I wondered, though, if you have a university or school like this near you that you could ask to purchase a couple of their coats. Explain that it's for a school project, and they might just sell you a couple.

I read in one ad that at the case rate the coats only run $3.36 each, so if they're willing to sell you a couple it wouldn't cost much. As for goggles, I found a website where you can get them for as low as $1.15 a pair. gss-store.com/product/GD10 Sources: In my opinion...

Get the lab coats at a uniform supply store in your area; the goggles from an industrial supply company. You may save enough money to get them embroidered with their names or team name! Look in your phone book for uniform supply companies - give them a call to make sure they have small enough sizes for your daughter.

I think it is easiest to go to the store and size them yourself to make sure they will fit. Many stores have used apparel, but I found the new ones so cheap that I bought those! If they need regulation OHSA goggles, make sure you get the ones with with vents that point back on the sides and top - machinist goggles that you can get at a Home Depot type place won't pass inspection with there are regulations.

But, if the projects don't involve chemicals, just physical science materials, the machinist goggles will be fine. For OHSA goggles, again look in your phone book for industrial supplies - many times, because they buy and sell in bulk, they will give them to you for a couple of dollars each pair. BTW, this is such a great idea - they will be thrilled.

I gave a gift of lab coats to 5 students I coached for science competitions - it didn't cost much and the kids were so excited to look so professional after all of their hard work preparing... A science surplus store Here in Milwaukee we have this AWESOME store, American Science & Surplus Store. You can shop on-line or look for a comparable in your neck of the woods. Honestly, I've never been to a cooler or cheaper place in my life.

They have EVERYTHING under the sun related to science & odds & ends for art projects-etc. Things start @ 5cents & go up from there. You could contact your local highschool or middle school science teacher if this option doesn't work for you & buy from their source! Good luck at the science fair!

Hope dad & daughter do well... Sources: sciplus.com/storeDetail.cfm?store=3 .

American Science and Surplus AS&S is a great resource for lab supplies, science fair stuff, and all kinds of weird stuff at rock-bottom prices. I love it. Their catalog is funny, too.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
