The eyes are likened to the windows of the heart in Mark 7:20-23 I can find none that say; they are the "windows to the soul Answer There seems to be a great deal of debate over the origins of the phrase, "the eyes are the windows to the soul. " Some credit Immanuel Kant. Max Beerbohm cites it in his own quote, "I do not need a book of quotations to know that the eyes are the windows to the soul."
Other sources simply state that it is an old English or Arab proverb I haven't been able to find the phrase in any translation of the Bible to which I have access. Mark 7:20-23 may hint at such a thought, but some translations make no references to the eyes Answer It doesn't seem to reference http://bibleresources.bible.com/keywordsearchresults.php?keywordall&version125&sortorderMark+7%3A20-23&passage2&passage4&version10&version30&version561&Submit.y=9 The Lamp of The Body is The Eye Matthew 6:22,23 says "The lamp of the body is the eye. If, then, your eye is simple, your whole body will be bright; but if your eye is wicked, your whole body will be dark.
If in reality the light the that is in you is darkness, how great that darkness is! KJV - Luke 11:33-36 indicates:11:33No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light. 11:34The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.11:35Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.11:36If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.
NOTE:the word single is interpreted as clear Ref Luke 11:33-36; King James Version (KJV): In addition to what I previously posted for "Eyes are the window to the soul". I find its origin in the bible 58 to 68 A.D. Matthew 6 22-23. Matthew 6:22-23 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness In the 1st book of Clements 19:3 (From the Codex Sinaiticus) a mention is made to this line.
If the age of the book is true then this can be comfortably set around the 1400's 19:3 Let us behold him in spirit, and look with the eyes of the soul to his long-suffering will.
Real close, looking into each others eyes. There was no space between you, because you were so in love. Your faces connected as you talked, and so did your eyes.
Your vision was not impaired, for you saw and felt love. There were no walls or shields to protect your heart from this new love of your life, at least none that you knew of at the time. Because you had a vision for love:) People around you could see the love in your eyes!
You were so close, that you could see the reflection of yourselves in each others eyes. A Mother's Love, A Father's Love, when they see their new born baby. They can't wait to hold this new baby, who is a part of them.
Waiting in anticipation to look into their eyes, wondering what color their eyes will be. Then there is a day, when the child too, can see clearly the now visible Mother and Father. They interact their young expressions to their parents, even through their eyes.
They can now, express love, happiness, sadness through the windows to their soul. Unfortunately, as we get older, we have taken in much vision to our soul. Good and bad, seem to enter in through our eyes.
We try to filter the bad out, to only accept good. Without knowing it, our filter gets clogged.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
