Where's the most interesting place you've ever visited in your travels?

MacQuarie Island, sub Antarctica. I was an expeditioner with the Australian Antarctic Research Expeditions for a full year from Oct 1976 to Oct 1977.

The island is twenty-three miles long by three across. It teems with wildlife: 18,000 Elephant Seals. It has Fur Seals, Leopard Seals, and the occassional Hooker Sea Lion and Weddell Seals drop in.

There are four types of penguins: Royals, Kings, Gentoos, and Rockhoppers, their entire population being over 3,000,000 strong.

If you take a look at some of my Hubs you'll get an idea of the place - plenty of pictures.

On top of this you have Albatross of several species- all types of sea birds. Oh, and the scenery is breathtaking in its clarity on a clear, fine day. The air, of course, being the cleanest and freshest in the world.

Taj Mahal located in Agra, India. Oh! It is heaven.

You can't take off your eyes from it, its beauty and the way it is designed... the architectural work just captures the viewers attention.

Arizona and utah, lately but Montana sticks in my mind.....

Somewhere in Mexico in the state of Guanajuato, I went swimming inside a volcano crater full of water. The volcano was and is still active, just not erupting at the moment. Sulphur bubbles were all in the water and it was the most stunning color of green jade.

I heard they drilled a tunnel through the walls of the cone to let the water out so it's no longer a "piscina" *swimming hole*. But definitely the most interesting trip of my travels in Mexico.

Egypt, absolutely! The Valley of the Nile is really incredible: a derrible desert all around, while a green and luxuriant vegetation grows on the shores of the great river...then vast and so ancient monuments appear on the horizon, capturing the eye at once! The cruise on the Nile from Luxor to the lake Nasser is a veritable "time travel", that is remained etched in my memory!

Of all the travels I have, the most interesting place is in Davao City, Philippines. The place is so nice. I loved to eat Durian.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
