Cause thats not the only blu-ray out there to the best of my knowledge. I don't like the idea of this current format war. Currently I don't know if HD dvds are going to phase this out but on the other side of the hd dvd is regular dvd format, so you can choose to upgrade in the future.

So with your opening question I would have to lean toward the Hd dvd player, The ps3 plays regular format dvds just fine with no extra conversion required. HD DVD is the better choice. There are a couple reasons to go with HD DVD. First off its less expensive.

A bluray disc can hold more data, its true, except it costs something like 3x the cost to produce, with the same visual quality. Sony is also so confident that they will win the format war (we all remember the beta max) that they don't even have a backup plan. Gaming magazine "Game Informer" asked one of the execs what they would do if Bluray failed as the next great format and he simply laughed sideways at them and said, and I quote, "thats not possible!"

You can get the toshiba HD DVD player with the upscale for regular DVD's for a lot less then a PS3. Or if you wanted great gaming as well, simply get an XBox 360 with the HD DVD upgrade (which has gone down in price) and have better gaming (my opinion) then the PS3 plus great movie watching. Don't just buy a PS3 for bluray. Look at the other abilities of the PS3 if you're considering it. Bluray is not likely to be the way of the future.

HD DVD appears to be winning that fight, so if you're looking strictly for a DVD player then go with an HD DVD model. If you're looking for gaming plus a DVD player, then your consideration should be the PS3 vs the XBOX360. Sources: my opinion .

1 Yes - the PS3 does upscale DVDs, very nicely too. I have my PS3 connected via HDMI, and the picture quality of both Blu-ray discs and DVDs is amazing .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
