Wow... the other answers were definitely not underrated or underground. I think the best and most unique underground rappers are as follows. They are all really different styles, I'd give them all a chance.
1. Busdriver (kind of hard to get into, but check out "The Troglodyte Wins", "Me-Time", and "Pompous Posies! Your Party's No Fun" Don't worry, the rest of my suggestions aren't quite as strange) 2.
Open Mike Eagle ("Nightmares", "I Rock", "The Processional") 3. Aesop Rock ("None Shall Pass", "Cycles to Gehenna", "Gopher Guts") 4. Dark Time Sunshine ("I'll Be Damned", "Look at What the Cat Did", "Never Cry Wolf") 5.
Astronautalis ("The Story of My Life", "This is Our Science", "Contrails") 6.P.O.S ("How We Land", "Optimist", "That One") 7. Sadistik ("Michael", "Searching for Some Beautiful", "Absolution") 8. Kristoff Krane ("Mouth of the Beast", "Picking Flowers Next to Roadkill", "Leave the Summer") 9.
Cage ("Ballad of Worms", "Agent Orange", "The Void") 10. Ceschi ("Hangman", "Bad Jokes", "Half Mast") 11. Cecil Otter ("Rebel Yellow", "Boxcar Diaries", "Demon Girl") 12.
Eyedea and Abilities ("Smile", "By the Throat", "Glass").
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
