Well... as the old saying goes: When Superman and Goku fight, Chuck Norris wins. ;-).
Superman, hands down. Goku would have to stand around and POWAAAAH UP! For a week before he could do anything that would remotely damage Superman.
It would depend on which era Superman you were considering, which age and series Goku was in contention, and then extraneous factors such as moon phase, sun type, Kryptonite, etc.
Superman will win the fight. Because superman actually escaped from inside a black hole. That defies the laws of physics.
Light cannot even escape. Also, Superman can survive in the center of the sun gets more powerful by doing so. Last time I checked the sun would considerably damage Goku if he was in it for a while without a ki field around his body.
Superman's lifting strength is probably about 1000x greater than Goku on your average day. The only way Goku wins this is by taking out the sun and then instant transmission plus repeated Kamehameha's until Superman runs out of strength...however thats going to take a whole lot and I'm not sure if Goku can last that long because Superman has plenty of reserve energy after the sun goes.
Superman would win. Seshankrishnan makes plenty of valid points for this, and I would like to add that Goku has gone through training to enhance his abilities, whereas Superman needs no training to perfect his superhuman skills.
You kinda just hurt yourself with the statement "Goku has gone through training to enhance his abilities". That's the point. Superman has reached his limits, and Goku has unlimited potential.
He can keep going and going. Superman has absolutely nothing on Goku - Goku wouldn't even have to go Super Saiyan or power up. He can teleport anywhere (Instant Transmission).
He has 10 times the power required to destroy a planet when only transforming to Super Saiyan 1 (not powering this stage up, just transforming to it). In Season 8, when Goku is fighting Yakon, Babidi is watching and checks Goku's Power Level after he transforms. He said his power level was at 3,000 Kili, and then goes on to say it only takes a Power Level of 300 Kili to destroy a planet.
Goku can also use ranged energy blasts. Superman only has laser eyes in a few of the story arcs. The power of Goku's blasts vary, but his signature moves are the Kamehameha and the Spirt Bomb.
And Superman couldn't just "move out of the way" of the Spirit Bomb, it is far too large when fully charged. It is obvious that Goku has the upper hand on Superman. One of the answers also said Goku would have to "Power Up" too long, and Superman would beat him before he could. It is not required for Saiyans to power up to fight.
In many of the episodes, they transform into a Super Saiyan in an instant. It is the first time they do that the transformations take time. After they have once, it gets easier and easier to do it.
But as said before, it depends on what stage the storyline is at when the fight. As Kid Goku in Dragonball, Superman would easily win.In the first season, before Goku trains with King Kai, Superman would still win fairly easily. After that training it would be a close match, but I would give Superman a slight edge.
In Season 2, when he arrives on Planet Namek after training at 100x gravity, to be fair I will say it is an even match. After his body is beaten to near death when Captain Ginyu controls it and then Goku regains control and is healed, he has the advantage on Superman.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
