Every business has the right to determine what is best for their business. Amazon apparently acted on that right.

Supposedly they hate free speech, or something. But those prices can't be beat! .

Actually, Amazon hosted Wikileaks for a day while Wikileaks looked for other Web servers in Europe after their Website was hit with a denial of service attack.

Well of course we wonder exacty who mounted the denial of service attacks... I heard something about a phone call from Senator Lieberman to Amazon. Anyone have any details on that? Buttercuppers 12 months ago .

Yup. Lieberman was threatening to investigate Amazon. Amazon got bullied!

Bezos will do just about anything to get amazon in the news.

That's what I would sorta think. But corporate America surprises me every day! Buttercuppers 12 months ago .

Amazon agreed to host Wikileaks. However, Amazon Corporation later reneged on that agreement after the U.S. Government gave them a stern talking to (or offered them some tax breaks if they kicked Assange out the door. ) .

Just my opnion. Bezos will do just about anything to get amazon in the news.It would not surprise me to learn that Bezos himself made public the amazon was hosting wikileaks, and to also make pubilc that amazon pulled their support. I also would not be surprised to learn he had a hand in making public the whole pedophile book issue.

The man has no shame.

Haha Turbo, well you certainly don't sound like an apologist for Bezos! On the other hand (there i've said it again,! ) He'd probably accept the"shameless" description rather than admit he's some govt puppet.

I don't mean for this to be so personal all of a sudden.. I don't know Bezos and haven't talked with him.. although I'd like to. Jeff, if you're out there chime in please? Buttercuppers 12 months ago .

It's ok to get personal. Forming personal relationships with other members is what makes this place great. As for Jeff Bezos - well, no one knows him.

He started amazon, and has controlling interest. He has never visited askville. As a matter of fact - I doubt he even remembers we exist.

He was on Oprah touting the kindle last year. When he was asked about this site *askville* he claimed that the questions asked here were answered by MTurkers! .
