Because his campaign speeches were so uplifting and inspirational. What pissed me off was they gave it to Obama for good speeches and never to Pope John Paul II. Its why I never give any attention to the Nobel Peace Committee.
Its not that I have have anything against Obama, but its just that all they gave it to him for was speeches. I could have gotten that award by just saying repetitive talk of "lets all live in peace and harmony where there is no more war and I will create it". Action speaks louder then words.
Like many (perhaps most?) Americans, you seem to imagine that it is somehow "your business" who the PRIVATELY-FUNDED Nobel Committee in Norway CHOOSE to give their own money to! Obama got the Nobel Prize because that's who they WANTED to give it to! What the Hell business is it of YOURS who a private foreign agency give their own damn money to?
I absolutely guarantee you that YOU would be all bent out of shape if some clueless idiot in Norway started publicly questioning how you spend YOUR own money.....or am I wrong, and you'd be hunky dory with that?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
