Why did the Republicans filibuster the Anti-Outsourcing Bill?

The fact is "we ain't seen nothin yet" from the party of NO. They are determined to bring government to a complete standstill. If they keep going like this to November they will be out of business.

I hope I can attend a few Republican Town Halls this summer, will be fun to see local Republicans take the hits they have earned.

Well, it is the rule that you never vote against your "Boss". And Wall Street is calling the shots for the Republicans. How much more obvious can it become?

What are they thinking? The only thing I can figure out is that they really do not want to get into the Oval Office soon since they know so well how many problems have yet to be solved and that cannot be done in the next 6 years. It will take much longer than that.

This bill is wrong because those corporation built a plant in India to sell in India. This is to increase market share because the cost to transport from the USA with Labor cost plus tariffs. This does add American jobs at the home office.

In other words, you are against the increase of white collar employment. DTG.

Taxes have nothing to do with it - investors put their money into an economy that shows promise of profit. The bill would help prevent corporations from getting tax breaks from their privileged position as American companies - they can import cheap plastic s*** from China, and still get tax breaks - even if that same US corporation fired thousands of American workers who used to manufacture the same stuff and exported those jobs to a totalitarian country. The Repubs blocked the bill because many of the same companies that have fired tens of thousands of American workers to export those jobs to Shanghai and New Delhi - are also the same companies that contribute heavily to GOP campaign whore-chests.

The Republicans are so mired in the right-now, they refuse to look toward the future, and are totally against looking at the past - which, ironically, is precisely where they're rooted. There has been a war against the middle-class - it became apparent during Reagan's days. The old saying that "the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer" is exactly right.

Guess what? If the GOP get control of the House and Senate - what spending is going to be cut first? EDUCATION.

Science/engineering/tech people are going to get screwed - like I said, Repugnicons don't look 5 or 10 years down the road. They don't care about new ideas - in fact they HATE them. By definition, conservatives don't want new ideas, or new ways of doing things.

They're only interested in gaining power, and they're looking for stupid people that don't see the big picture to vote for them. Your concern is well-founded. The whole GOP agenda has been to tear down Obama, without offering any real alternative to his policies.

Here's your chance to THINK. The GOP has been against EVERYTHING that Obama has come up with - but what alternatives have they themselves have come up with? Tax cuts - which have been proven not to work.

Dubya gave them in 2001 and 2003, and Dubya has the WORST record for job creation of any President since they've been keeping records. If you're an IT guy, you need to think real hard on a new angle for computers - and keep your cards close to your chest, there's tons of money to be made - if you're clever. It's so hard for an IT guy to make a buck, when comm with New Delhi is so easy and cheap.

Good luck to you - I really mean that. You sound like an intelligent, well-balanced person. Don't expect the GOP to help you, though.

They aren't really interested in intelligent people - just the ones with a lot of money to donate.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
