I am actually right in the middle of "The Snowball. " The latest biography about Warren Buffett and he is certainly a reader. I believe that the main reason successful people read so much is that they are constantly giving out information and helping others develop.

You could ask, "Is it a necessity for people who drive long distances to keep filling up their car with gas? " The answer is, of course, yes! If you want to use fuel, you must have a source for more fuel so you don't run out of gas.

The reason so many great leaders read so much, is that they are constantly giving out wisdom and knowledge to others. Since they don't want to run out smart ideas and ways to help develop people they must constantly be filling up their tank of knowledge. Reading is not the only solution, but it is a great source of "knowledge fuel.

" One other thought. Just because someone is a reader does not make them a leader or a successful person. It just makes them an interested person.

People who read are interested in something and that happens to be one trait of a good leader. I like the statement, "Not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers. " Hope that helps!

James P.S. George Washington was not a prodigious reader, at least by the standard of his time, so there is some hope! He just knew how to hire readers like Adams, Jefferson, Madison, etc. So, if you don't want to read and you want to be successful, just find a group of people as smart as the founding fathers and surround yourself with them! LOL.

I don't think reading has anything to do with success, it has to do with knowledge. As some say, "knowledge is power" and it's not just powerful for someone to be rich, it's powerful if they're knowledgeable. What would the richest person in the world, or the most successful person in the world be if they did not know anything.

Some people like to spend their time educating themselves, as they feel more alive and knowledgeable, than spend their time spending money. Warren Buffett did not become rich from not educating himself, he studied the markets, and it took hard work to build up his investment strategy. It can't hurt to read, it can only make you more knowledgeable.

With reading you input knowledge, and with writing you output knowledge. I also think, at his stage of wealth, Warren Buffett believes his wealth is not just how much money he has, it's also his knowledge in the subjects he's interested in.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
