Why do Neocons always attack Robert Byrd's past but ignore conservatives racist past?

Every word you say is true. Why? Because that's the way Republicans are.

Well, Strom Thurmond was never a member of the KKK. He was a segregationist but so were most people from the South at the time. It is never a good idea to view history out of context of the era.

Things were far different back then in the evolution of race relations here in the USA. But even by the standards of the time, Robert Byrd, as a high ranking Ku Klux Klan officer and recruiter was pretty extreme. It is bad enough that people like Strom Thurmond wanted Blacks and Whites keep separate but something much more sinister to want to kill Black people, Jews and Catholics as the KKK did.

Same applies to the rest except David Duke who is a racist and was rejected by the Republican Party. The only Klansman in your list of Senators is Byrd and he is the only one still in office.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
