Why do priests, and nuns devote their lives to God?

Many people devote their lives to a higher spiritual calling regardless of their belief system. Those who choose the priesthood or become nuns as a vocation do so out of the desire to share God's love with others, serve their community and/or the downtrodden, homeless, hurt, etc. Jesus says, "Whenever you do this for the least of these (people), you do it for me." Some people feel a very mystical connection with their "god" and this leads them to live a life of devotion to their faith (whatever their faith/belief system may be).

In the past, especially in large Catholic families, it was traditional for families to "give" a son or daughter to "The Church." Sometimes people try the seminary in an attempt to get away from problems in their own lives and start afresh. Your question is a simple one; however, there are no easy answers and each person who seeks to serve their god has a unique reason for doing so.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
