Why Do We Really Watch Pro Wrestling: Storylines Or The Actual Wrestling?

I prefer pro wrestling far more than sports entertainment. After watching a lot of the 80s and early 90s professional wrestling, I dislike how sports entertainment is portrayed and how the actual reality from wrestling is gone. I still continue to like actual wrestling over the ridiculous over the top storylines, gimmicks, and segments.

Professional wrestling was all about competitors chasing after championships. There wasn't any cartoonish storylines involved in any rivalry. It was simply about two men who wanted to prove who the better man really is.

Sometimes it got personal and both competitors fought in a very personal battle. Sports entertainment and Vince McMahon completely ruined that. We now see less wrestling and more storylines to appeal to the new generation of fans.

Wrestling has taken a complete backseat for modern day storylines, gimmicks, and promos. I still continue to search for promotions that offer the best wrestling possible. I like how these promotions and matches have actual stories in their matches.

You don't need storylines and segments to have a story. A wrestling match between two competitors can tell a story all on its own. It's what makes the match unique, it's what makes the match memorable, it's what makes the match epic.

I like how stories are progressed through wrestling matches. I like seeing various wrestling styles such as Luchador wrestling from Mexico, the strong style from Japan, the innovation of the Original ECW, and the pure wrestling from several other promotions, which is why I like promotions such as ROH, NOAH, Dragon Gate, CMLL, the upcoming promotion named EVOLVE, and others. Many fans out there prefer the entertainment aspect of wrestling, but I like pro wrestling for the wrestling.

I might occasionally be entertained with sports entertainment because it actually does provide entertainment once in a while, but pro wrestling is what I'm more interested in.

Pro wrestling, no doubt about it. I grew up watching people like Dick The Bruiser, the Crusher and Bruiser Brody. I don't think those guys would have played the sports entertainment game too well.

But part of me still likes the sports entertainment part, if it is done right. But for the last couple years, it has not been done right.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
